Petr Ettler

Petr Ettler was born July 17, 1947 in Prague; after finishing his B. Sc. and M. Sc. he achieved Ph. D. in biochemical engineering (1981). He worked as head of pilot plant dept. in Institute of Microbiology Czech Academy of Sciences. Since 1992 he is chancellor of Archbishop in Prague. Autodidacte, member of Association of Czech Artists.

Petr Ettler responds spontaneously and with a good measure of feeling to the outside world full of colours and forms. He adsorbed the poetic landscape especially in the Southern Bohemia. His impressionistic play of light and shadows is presented in exhibited aquarels and oil paintings. Only a precise stroke of brush and correctly selected colour lend to the watercolour the desired effect: Dramatic changes due to atmospheric tension in the nature or peaceful and quiet landscape in japanese style.
