FINAL MESSAGE

A peaceful world is born and grows every day through each of us. The secret is: 'Do to others what you would like to be done to you'. This 'golden rule', present in almost all the faiths of the world, is written in the heart of every person. It invites us to practise respect and love. But loving is an 'art' that has a number of qualities. It requires us to love everybody, to be the first to love, to love in a practical way, to love by identifying ourselves with the other person, by also loving our enemy. If we put this' art of loving' into practice in every aspect of our life, we are already bringing about universal fraternity. The result is: humanity becomes a family of united peoples. No to what we don't need · We take a look at what we own and share with others what we don't need. As well, we start local and world-wide solidarity projects. · We extend this sharing of our goods on a planetary level as an antidote to consumerism and to the huge differences between various countries. · We spread the culture of giving which leads us to share with others not only what we have, but also what we are. The other: A planet to be discovered · An end to prejudice and discrimination: we undertake to know those who are different from us. We discover the value of the other person. We highlight that which unites us. · We learn to dialogue by listening and identifying with the other's point of view, communicating what we think with respect. Time-out · We answer hatred with forgiveness, injecting hope everywhere. · We ask for a special help from heaven: every day at 12:00, local time depending on the time zones, we stop for a moment of silence and prayer. Our wish is that everywhere everyone stops what they are doing for this time-out for peace. Always believe in life · We recognize the value of life in every one of its moments. · We take care of our body and respect those of others, so that it may expresses that which is most true and deep within us. · We examine in detail the relationship between the generations. This is an opportunity to exchange the richness which is contained in each of life's various stages. · We play and practise sport not only to win, but to build true friendships. Harmony and nature · We want to leave a mark of harmony in our way of being and on the environment that surrounds us. · The earth has been given to us as a gift; we respect it by spreading an ecological culture so as to hand it on in an even more beautiful state to the coming generations. · We also express our lifestyle through music, theatre and other artistic expressions. A net between the schools · We learn to discover the seeds of the truth present in the different cultures and religions. We make the school become a place of growth and fraternal interaction where we improve our knowledge of other peoples. · We support meetings between young people all over the world, creating a net between schools with the project: 'Schoolmates'. Media · We do not passively absorb the messages which bombard us. · We use the mass media to spread what is positive and we refute that which does not respect the dignity of every person. · We actively play our part so that communication becomes an instrument to build a united world. Already there are many of us who practice this way of living; soon, we would like to involve all the young people of the world.
