The Igino Giordani Centre, led by prof. Tommaso Sorgi, was started in 1985 in order to keep the figure of Igino Giordani (1894-1980) alive. Giordani was a writer, journalist, and member of Parliament in the early days of the Italian democracy, who passed away in 1980.
The Centre operates from the headquarters of the Focolare Movement, founded by Chiara Lubich, who defines Giordani as a co-founder of the Movement.
The archives in this Centre contain a vast documentation of Giordani's cultural, ecclesial and political activity. It supplies material and assists scholars who wish to deepen their knowledge of him, and is a support for the nearly 50 students who have already elaborated degree theses.
The Centre also supports and organises conferences and various activities around the world, commemorating this illustrious figure, known and loved by many.
